Whether its planning for retirement, partnership changes, dealing with divorce, probate or whatever else life throws at you, there are many situations where it is useful to know the current value of your Boots Opticians franchise - you don't have to be preparing to sell.

Myers La Roche are able to provide a confidential valuation report using our tried and tested valuation model, without ever having to visit your premises.

To carry out a valuation the following information will normally be required:

  • The latest available 3 years full published accounts
  • Any additional up to date management figures that are available for more recent trading months
  • A completed copy of our Boots Opticians valuation questionnaire (which captures details of staffing, security of tenure, equipment schedules etc.)
  • Where not included in the core franchise accounts, we will require details of contact lens commissions administered and paid directly from Boots central CL distribution centre. * This depends upon the accounting methodologies utilized by the franchisee’s accountants and tends to arise most often where a franchisee owns multiple Boots Opticians branches.
  • Due to the historic merger with Dollond and Aitchison (D&A) by Alliance Boots back in 2009 we still occasionally come across Boots Opticians Brand Partner agreements as well as Boots Opticians Franchise agreements. We will therefore need to review a copy of the partner's current franchise/JV agreement
  • Digital photographs/and or a walk-through video of the practice to allow an assessment of the quality/wear and tear of the current shop fit.

We will NOT require a site visit to complete our valuation assessment report

Timescales and Process

Boots Opticians valuations are typically delivered within 20 working days of receipt of the requested information, although when required, subject to our workload, it may be possible to expedite this time frame on request.

As we build our valuation model, we may need to ask you to clarify any queries arising (in some instances you may need to refer more technical questions to your accountant or to a member of the support team at Boots headquarters in Nottingham.) However, we do fully appreciate that confidentiality may be required and will therefore always seek approval from our franchisee/brand partner client before contacting any other party during the course of our work.
